The three CDs are filled with superb remastered and totally authentic recordings that span the incredible career of Frankie Valli and The four Seasons. The quality is superb, the versions presented here are the originals, in stereo or mono as is appropriate. The DVD is wonderful - classic live performances of the group at its peak. Of especial note are the 1971 TOTP recordings of Let's Hang On and I've Got You Under My Skin, both live, very well recorded and very true to the 1971 stage sound. Frankie's voice is at its best and this has to be heard loud to get the full dramatic impact. Thoroughly recommended.

Whatever Simple Minds will be remembered for it will always be The Stadium Rock years from 1984 to 1989 was there finest years and it gathered them success in America for a brief period, but this album for me was the peak of there stadium rock years, and the peroid when they tried to be The Scottish U2. The opener Up On The catwalk is a brilliant Start to the album opening with Mel Gaynor's thundering Drums it sets the mood of the whole album, the next track is the brilliant Book of Brilliant Things which includes more synthesisers than most Simple Minds tracks and sets the mood for album. The next song is the wonderful single Speed Your Love, my personal favourite from the album which is followed by the equally brilliant Waterfront which is ... Read More:

Take a wonderful singer,an orchestra of international repute with a conductor who is a consummate Handelian, and the result should be something quite special. And yes,for the most part it does live up to all the potential promise that the line-up vouchsafes to deliver.Bryn Terfel could squeeze the last drop of emotion out of the most recalcitrant and inert libretto with that wonderful vocal instrument of his,and in this collection he brings all his considerable musical might to bear upon some of Handel's most exquisite writing, and the result is a record that would grace anyone's collection.

When I first read the track listing,I was somewhat taken aback to see the inclusion of such arias as, "Verdi Prati";"Where'er you walk";Ombra ... Read More:

Total waste of time by Virgin rather than release anything new, this is a repackage of what was released in 1992 as four seperate box sets. The fith "box" is a simple rehash of the singles released at the time and not included in the previous four sets. Best looking for the orginal box sets second hand rather than this over priced bit of tosh.

These two albums count amongst Bowie's most hated 1980s work by the critics. Perhaps they held him to a higher standard because there are some gems here.

On Never Let Me Down, Day-in Day-out is a rather lackluster opener and was the wrong choice for a single. On the upside, Beat Of Your Drum is strong and tuneful, as is Zeroes, despite the fact that it's modelled on Heroes. Glass Spider reminds me of Nick Cave's short short-story The Vargus Barking Spider on the Smack My Crack compilation. New York's In Love is also catchy, but the rest is quite average. Never Let Me Down is by no means unlistenable, so Bowie devoted fans should find enough here to enjoy.

On Tonight, the title track, a duet with Tina Turner, is a classic soulful song ... Read More:
