the songs from bands that filled the 60's charts that werent the beatles, beach boys, stones. Not a bad track here - everyone a solid gold classic - too many to pick a standout. These songs have been available on other compilations but not brought together like this before. too good to miss - keep your vinyl treasures safe and sound -play this instead.

i know Danny Gatton wasn't from Nashville, but he is the guy that The Lovin' Spoonful referred to in their song 'Nashville Cats' ('been playin' since they was babies') - they wrote the song after seeing Danny Gatton perform in a Nashville club. Anyway, Danny Gatton is undoubtedly one of the greatest guitar players in the history of rock and roll. His 'Sun Medley', which features the great Delbert McClinton on vocals, contains some of the most incredible rockabilly guitar work you'll ever hear. Ultimately, Danny was a tragic figure, taking his own life when he still had so much to offer.
