This is a must have album for all Ry Cooder fans. For those not in the know Booby KIng and Terry Evans provide backing vocals on some of the best Ry Cooder albums and here, the 1980s Cooder band, plus the man himself, return the favour.

This is a great bluesy, soulful and, above all, fun collection. The playing is top notch and the vocals are simply wonderful. My favourite is trhe closing track, "The Dark End of the Street", originally by James Carr and much covered by all manner of people.

I think that this album is a gem, a classic waiting to be discovered by everyone who likes their blues with a dose of gospel, their country with a dose of blues and their soul with a dose of fun.

I always think of this ... Read More:

Bring down the safety rail - you're going to need it!
This is the darkest disc i have bought yet one that i want to play again and again.

This double disk provides more exhilarating twists and turns than the best fairground ride.

Just one accomplished pianist, with a stupendous vocal talent that makes PJ Harvey sound like Kylie!

This is one of the most passionate performances i have ever heard and one i can recommend.

This artist is unique and unrivalled. Every style of music gets a hearing but it is the jazz-tinged, deliciously dark delivery that's the theme of the whole affair.

It has shot into my top ten albums of all time!

Little Milton was one of my favourite artists back in the early Sixties at a time when my musical tastes were beginning to form. along with Bobby Bland and Eddie Boyd. This album stands up very well nearly 50 years on and despite the fact that there is a similarity of theme throughout the album it is very listenable (if there is such a word) and I enjoyed it very much.
