...but not one of his best (there are so many to choose from). Still, full of Ry Cooder's lovely bluesy vocals and GORGEOUS guitar playing, so all in all, pretty good.

Heavy on the Funk! These full 12 inch tracks need to be played on a loud bass friendly system. A grower of an album but is totally Zapp, Funky guitars; handclapping drums, Vocoder ( Synthesised voice box ). Purveyors of the original Funk sound, whilst Cameo were still kids or Snoop doggy dog was still a puppy. “ I can make you dance “ sums up the classic Zapp sound and in the full 12 inch mix – Yummy! The ballad “ Spend My whole Life “ is refreshing and wholesome with lyrics like “ I’m such a blessed man To have you in my life, I have in life one desire, that desire is to make you my wife.” – A soulful lurve song!! Containing a monster 11 minute plus version of their classic 'Dance Floor', Zapp 11 is worth buying for P funk collectors for this track alone. The other U.S R&B hit from the album was the almost as good 'Doo Wa Ditty (Blow That Thing)' of which, there are two different versions included here.The first is typical Zapp and in the same vein as 'Dance Floor' and their earlier seminal 'More Bounce To The Ounce'. The second version of the song takes the song into a more Jazzy direction and has some nice bluesy guitar playing on it. Of the other three tracks, 'Playin' Kinda Ruff' is of similar ilk to the first two tracks mentioned but less essential and 'Do You Really Want An Answer' and 'Come On' are less P funky, more traditional mid tempo songs.
