This album is excellent, it shows Joanna's voice off to perfection, including songs from the many roles she has played from shows such as Miss Saigon and Les Miserables, as well as other not so well known shows such as I Sing and Musical of Musicals. The highlight for me is the beautiful 'Neverland'.

One of the many mysteries of pop and rock is how Three dog night, hugely successful in their native America, had only a couple of minor chart entries in Britain. I was unaware of them until many years later, when I discovered that I actually recognized several of their hits via other versions. Two of their best songs, Joy to the world and Never been to Spain, were written by the late, great Hoyt Axton - a brilliant singer-songwriter who is vastly under-rated. Two of the other songs here, The show must go on and One man band, were hits in Britain for Leo Sayer, who wrote one of them and may or may not have been the original singer of the other. The musical 'Hair' is easily one of my favourites. Here, the broadway album has been remastered for much better sound (many of the vocals are a lot clearer than on previous releases). The second disc contains the original 'off-broadway' album - never before released on CD. It provides a great insight into the humble beginnings of this experimental 'happening'. Also, the interview track with one of the show's creators Galt MacDermot is quite interesting (although probably unnecessary). Altogether, great value for money - and a must-buy for any fan of the show (or Hippie ideals!)
