If you have the previous boxed edition of this album you have to buy a duplicate copy of the cd just to get hold of the dvd! I suppose the state of cd sales is such that record companies feel they have to rip off customers to get what they can out of us. Perhaps Goldfrapp might rethink the way they sell their music to their fans in future?

If, like me, you're one of those people who was blown away by Felt Mountain but disappointed by what came after then Seventh Tree may give you cause to rejoice. Although a very different beast to FM this album shares the same quirky, sensual and exotic oddness as Goldfrapp's remarkable debut. The main difference between the two is mood - FM was frequently quite dark (and in the case of Deer Stop, downright creepy) but Seventh Tree is a long summer's day to Felt Moutain's eerie twilight. Goldfrapp obviously don't mind annoying their fans - having thoroughly cheesed-off many Felt Moutain lovers (including me) by going off in a wildly differnt direction for their next two albums they've now annoyed some of the fans of ... This album is exquisite, beautiful, wonderful. A truly lovely piece of work. It sounds like Goldfrapp are developing as artistes and they're playing stuff they're much more into. You can't really compare it to their other albums; Black Cherry is a sublime opus that stands on its own. I can't say how good this record is; it's just great! If you like Goldfrapp, you might like Broken Social Scene.

The 1st review sums it up excellently. It stands out from the other songs on 'Seventh Tree' and is by far the best track on the whole album. I don't like comparisons with other musicians as I think Goldfrapp are way out there, on their own and vocally Allison doesn't have any contemporaries who can match her warm, mellow and beautiful voice. The lyrics are fun, the tune jolly but catchy and the unfortunate thing is that the track is only 4 minutes long. Last night, as Happiness played, I danced like a maddie round my living room as my long-suffering girlfriend could only cringe in horror. Just wonderful.
