This CD is great but not top notch there are a few bits of music missing the interview with the music writers is a rare insight to what they do and what can happen. Most of the songs are here but some aren't but it is still enjoyable CD and the interview is a nice extra there is another Mary Poppins CD out there which has every bit of music on it.

I bought this CD for my daughter, who at 9 has become probably the third generation to be entranced by the excellent music written for the film adaptation of Mary Poppins, which considering it was released in 1964 has shown astonishing longevity. The majority of these songs sound remarkably fresh, aided in particular by the vivacity of Julie Andrews (a performer born to play this role, even though her character in the film is very different to the book!) With the possible exceptions of My Fair Lady and West Side Story, few musicals have really been able to sustain the quality of material, but the gathering here of songs like A Spoonful of Sugar, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, Feed the Birds, Fly a Kite, Chim Chim Cher-ee and ...
