For me this was a classic case of taking a risk on something based on knowing a few of the artists. I can say without doubt this is the best record i've bought in the last 12 months. I was worried that over the course of 5cd's it would get samey or repetitive, but I couldn't be more wrong. Each mix has its own vibe and feel - you will not be dissapointed and I don't think 30 odd quid could be better spent. I'm by no means the most clued up in the world but there's something really satisfying about having something you won't see in the local HMV and that most people will never have heard, yet wish they had when they hear it - absolutley off the hook.

Like its predecessor 'Pure Groove', 'Pure Groove - The Classics' is a first class compilation. If you own Pure Groove buy this one as well - its worth every penny. From the brilliant opening track Ain't Nobody by Rufus and Chaka Khan, through to the final track on the second CD, D-Train's Music. Does this take you back? Very compilations to date have been as good as this one.
