Actually, I've always liked this album. I enjoy the mix of tracks: some Shadows instrumentals, some Shadows vocals, and, of course, some Cliff vocal work. The best Cliff tracks are "Don't Forget to Catch Me" which is rather syrupy and predictable but pleasant none-the-less and "What's Behind the Eyes of Mary" which is simply a pleasing, melodic number. Those must be Hank's rather rough vocals on "The Average Life of a Daily Man," a song I like for its upbeat character, and the other Shadows vocal I could keep listening to is "Here I Go Again Loving You." As for the instrumentals, I find I keep coming back to the toe-tapping "Banana Man" while I really appreciate the smooth "Maggie's Samba."

Usually I find it very difficult to find something to criticize when it comes to Cliff Richard. It's like everything he touch turns to gold, and if someone can present a cover-version of a song it's Cliff. And when it comes to concerts he can get away with almost everything and people, including myself, love the songs anyway. But this time I have to criticize Cliffs live-album, because as it is released with only 14 tracks and at the same time released as a live-album, I'd rather wish it wasn't released at all, simply because it really doesn't give a fair picture of the live concert, and many of the songs seems added totally randomly, and really good songs like "She's a Gipsy" and lots of others are missing here. Instead there are the old songs ... Read More:

After buying the DVD a month or so ago, I decided to splash out on the soundtrack. And what film am I talking about? Pulp Fiction no less. The film had some great music in all the right places, so surely the music on its own would also be great. Well, yes and no, but with more emphasis on yes thankfully. There are about 4 great tunes (one of which is the now infamous "You Never Can Tell" by Chuck Berry...the one where Mia and Vincent dance if you don't know), and about 4 good tunes, and the rest are average, with one bad one. However, I managed to get the Collector's Edition, so as well as 4 bonus tracks (one of which comes under 'great tunes'), I also have a 21-minute interview with Mr Tarantino himself: well worth a listen, and actually, I have to ...
