Enjoyable, but then I enjoy Debussy. It is certainly interesting to note that each piece in Benedetti's 1971 recording lasts considerably longer than on this 1963 disc. 'Considerably' means as much as 30 seconds in some instances. The 1971 recording met with truly glowing reviews and I think that Benedetti allowed himself to 'dwell' longer over the phrasing - to good effect, in my opinion. The only composition to be reduced by a few seconds is The Golliwog's Cakewalk. However, I cannot find the DG '71 recording on CD. Does it exist?
