I was prepared for the worst but actually it is quite good - a jazzy interpretation of the Dark Side. Well recorded (Chesky!) and finely executed it is an easy-listening curiousity. Surprisingly (for a tribute album) it stands well to repeated listenings, a good piece of work in it's own right. A keeper.

This is quite possibly the greatest rock CD out there. I have always been a fan of the British Rock from the 70s and 80s, with my 2 favourite bands being Pink Floyd and Dire Straits. What Alchemy is to Dire Straits, Pulse is to Pink Floyd. 'Coming Back To Life', 'Another Brick in The Wall', and of course 'Comfortably Numb' are quite simply sensational. The album is a must have for anyone who appreciates a fantastic guitar solo, or for those who think that music is just not the same as it was. Honestly buy this album, put it on a great stereo, and you can just sit back and be amazed. Without doubt my favourite album!

This is an astonishing record! On paper the idea of a reggae cover of Dark Side Of The Moon sounds demented - but in practise it's truly fabulous. The All-Stars perform dub alchemy, conjuring roots rock out of prog rock like it was the most natural progression. Great Gig In The Sky had me sobbing at its beauty - honestly. Any Floyd fans with a passing interest in reggae - or, alternatively, any reggae-ists with a passing interest in Pink Floyd - this is for you. Carefully treading that fine line between homage and parody, the All-Stars present a classic work of art in a new way that shines a white light into the prism of your heart. The result is a mind-bending rainbow.

There's very little that I can add to the heaps of praise that this SACD has attracted. I received my brand new sealed copy today from an Amazon Marketplace vendor in New York for a little over £6 (what a bargain!) and by the time I reached track 4 I was so excited I had to tell someone about it. Unfortunately nobody at home has the same rabid level of interest in music and things technical that I have so I have logged on to direct my enthusiasm to Amazon customers instead. The SACD audio quality is spectacular for a start. The noise is absolutely zero on this release so the initial heartbeat sound really did creep up on me. I have a number of these albums and I enjoy them. Even if you aren't a fan of Coldplay, theirs is probably the best as it is strangely amusing for adults and rather upbeat. Pink Floyd are not renowned for being cheery fellows but I found this album slightly depressing, perhaps because it lacks the uplift of David Gilmour's guitar. Not sure if babies pick up on vibes but I don't enjoy this album despite being a long time fan. Perhaps they could have concentrated on the earlier stuff. I feel slightly uncomfortable having the words "Mother do you think they'll drop the bomb?" in my head as I listen along to the instrumental of Mother. Yes, they really should have concentrated on the Barrett stuff, seems obvious really.
