This is a decent enough compilation, with each of the 5 x CD's at 70 minutes plus - great value for anyone dipping their toes. A lot of the well known Classics are here, together with a full disc of OST material ie Star Wars, Raiders Of The Lost Ark, the (brilliant) Piano etc. I must stress that the vast majority, if not all of the Movie soundtrack material is NOT the original recordings, but it is still decently performed, and mercifully free of the use of synthesisers to create the orchestral sounds. It's all bonefide orchestras & conductors. There are better compilations out there but at this price it's great value! Great version of Ride Of The Valkyries on here as well...

The music as always is excellent. The compilation is standard. There must be 100 'Best Classical Music' genre CDs out there with exactly the same 'compilations'. I wish someone would be a little more imaginative. This is a good CD if you want something to listen to in the car.

I have never been into classical music, however the TV programs Maestro and Last Choir standing (I know trash TV... sorry) made me realise I did like some classical music. So time to test that theory, and of course this CD fitted the bill perfectly, a bit of everything and 99% you will probably know. Good album, maybe I may have discovered culture :-)
