I bought this album for my girlfriend last week and ended up buying another one for myself. Its a mix of old and very new (the lastest track being "Starry Eyed Surprise" by Oakenfold). Call me an old romantic but I don't think you can beat Nat King Cole's "Let There Be Love". There's even a beautiful Judie Tzuke track "Stay With Me Till Dawn" and that sums up this collection - a fab mix of old, not so old and brand new. So guys if you love her egt her this, if you don't buy it for yourself, you won't be disappointed.

Before Ronnie joined The Stones and whilst with The Faces, he had begun to carve out a successful solo career as a jobbing session musician and a songwriter in his own right. (You only have to check out the songwriting credits and particularly the melodies on The Faces and Rod Stewart solo albums to prove this.)

Following on from his debut "I've Got My Own Album To Do" in 1974, he came back with "Now Look" a year later (1975)which benefited from the inclusion of Bobby Womack on guitar and backing vocals and Ian McLagen on piano/organ with all three sharing co-producer credits with the latter two - steeped in the r 'n' b / soul of Booker T et al bringing something to the table without doubt.

Highlights are the Womack ... Read More:

Whilst it does have the appearance of being made & recorded in his sitting room with the windows open, this does have a certain charm. The band and the songwriters (Richards, Jagger, Harrison & McLagen)make it worth listening to alone. I file this next to the Black & Blue album because of the obvious reggae influence to this. You feel that Wood & Richard were going through a large Jah phase at this time.
I tend not to play this every week but it's a great period peice that records the ending of the decadence for this lot. Shirley though is truely awful it makes me laugh.

Just the thing for a lazy winter's afternoon, in a comfortable chair, with an hour or so to spare before dinner. Conjures images of slow waltzes, American smooth, passion and romance. Not the deepest voice, but a mellow, musical and pleasant sound, drifting from one track to the next seamlessly. A must have for relaxation, a glass or two of red wine, and maybe some alluring company.
