I have heard history of guns live, so I know what a vibe a person can get just from listening to them. But this new CD of theirs really deserves all the praise they can get. I am not a Punk/Alternative person, but I enjoy listening to them. They have a dark side, but yet have a relaxed side. I've got a lot of "Ibiza" compilations and a lot of house compilations generally. This is THE one for chilling out on the beach to. Most of these types of compilations are marred by chart friendly trash that is included to lure in the mass market and/or because of other commercial rather than artistic reasons. This one isn't. The Bar Life and Club Life CDs are good but admittedly not as good the original Renaissance mix album. But that's universally accepted as the pinnacle of the mix album genre so it's hardly surprising. The Beach Life CD on the other hand is epic. Incidentally, the track listing is wrong. The awesome Buena Vida mix of Inner City's classic Good Life closes the album rather than appearing earlier. I spent a week alone ... Read More:

the disco kandi compilations brought a fresh cool sound when they started. but as time went by, they just kept sounding the same. friendly disco house tunes that, sound exactly like one another. formalic house patterns. nothing exciting. and while the sounds of house music has changed to an electro/synth pop style (like shakedown and david guetta, for example), disco kandi kept on bringing the same old sounding house. this cd gets 2 stars, and the extra star is for the 10th track on the first cd which is worth the whole cd. it's a wonderful samba house track, with some nice tribal battucada.
