Love at the Greek is the culmination of energy and vocal maturity at the peak of his career. The Jonathan Livingston seagul medley is in my view the highlight of the album and certainly a valuable add-on to the original album. In this masterpiece he touches the audience with his heart, singing with sheer emotions, true to the sticky note that said "Remember Hal, I don't only want to be his voice, but his heart." Of course, the other songs, such as Glory Road are valuable to any ND collection too.

This is one of the best collections of Neil Diamond material available. Neil's gifts as a performer and songwriter have always been admired and this collection delivers in spades. The sheer range of quality music is breathtaking. Neil Diamond deservedly has a reputation for excellence and that can be heard here. I can't recommend this 3-disc set highly enough - it's just wonderful!

This is Neil Diamond's last great album, possibly his greatest. After this record, his stage persona would unfortunately take precedence and the genius songwriting became secondary to the performance and image of showman Neil Diamond. But these eight songs see Neil climax on a high. This is Neil's most spiritually potent album, with almost every track emanting a life-affirming, profound vitality. I've Been This Way Before, Lady Magdelene, Rosemary's Wine and The Last Picasso are beyond criticism - superb songs shimmering with the holy spirit and sung and played to perfection. The remaining four are simply good, although on first listen the bogus Jamaican accent on Reggae Strut might provoke a raised eyebrow. But Neil was obviously stoned on some potent marijuana ... You've probably dismissed Diamond as music your mum listens to. You're wrong to think this because you'll be missing some great pompous rock songs. Some of it's cheesy, but a lot of what is on this best of is genuinely good stuff. His name looks like an anomaly on my MP3 player's artist list. The thing is, I'm not ashamed as I love these big over the top (orchestra included on everything) songs. And you don't have to worry about good taste getting in the way of your listening experience. Some of these songs even rock in their own way. Though it's best to skip the Streisand duet. And Brooklyn Road and Morningside don't stand up after a few listens. Otherwise it's great. it counts as a great, but still early tribute to the singer songwriter that Neil still is. This three cd collection of neils gems also contain original and sometimes very funny tracks and try outs of "studio-playing (or fooling) around" with some of his songs (love on the rocks...)so the listener gets a pretty impressive insight in the artists work over the years. Its beautifully boxed and contains personal notes of Neil himself of how he sees his songs (which can be quite reveiling...) for every die hard fan a total must in every ND collection.
