Thank-you Candlelight! Finally the milestone Crowbar release Broken Glass is available after years of it being out of print. This is when the band started to inject some new ideas into their signature sound, with noticeably more melodic and dynamic songwriting. It's a great place to start with Crowbar if you're new to them: massively heavy detuned but catchy doom riffs, crushing drums, hardcore song structures, despairing/prevailing lyrical content and Kirk Windstein's anguished vocals, the stand-out feature that makes this band so very special. Broken Glass is notable for featuring some of the greatest Crowbar songs ever written (Like Broken Glass, I Am Forever) and pointed straight in the direction of where Oddfellows Rest was going to go. ... Crowbar are one of the most underrated bands ever! This album although may not be as good as oddfellows rust, still demonstates the winding, brusing riffs of windstien and pierce and is arguably one of their best! Tracks such as 'Like Broken Glass' show what these guys are about. There is very little as painful and yet still fairly excessible to sludge fans than this! A scorcher.
