I have never been into classical music, however the TV programs Maestro and Last Choir standing (I know trash TV... sorry) made me realise I did like some classical music. So time to test that theory, and of course this CD fitted the bill perfectly, a bit of everything and 99% you will probably know. Good album, maybe I may have discovered culture :-)

Perhaps my ears aren't up to the standard of the two previous reviewers, (or possibly it's my CD player), but I think this is a wonderful collection and I listen to it as often as I can.

This is one of the great performances of the twentieth century. On sparkling form, the aging Horowitz astonished a Manhattan audience at this spine-tingling come-back concert. Yes, there's the odd fluff, but, if you like piano music, you really should listen to this stuff. The old boy tinkered with the recording, but this is the original - as the audience heard it on the day.
