I bought this CD on the basis of being called "Meditation" - however as other reviewers have commented it is definately not music for meditating to. However, what you do have is a collection of classical music to relax to. I am not a big classics fan but some pieces were already familiar to me through their use in film and television. There were one or two tracks that I found a little too dramatic to find relaxing but on the whole I would happily recommend this if you are looking for a collection of gentle, soothing and quite beautiful music.

The jolt I got in my stomach when I heard the Cantique de Jean Racine from this CD (performed by King's College Cambridge [know-nuffin' Tabs]), which skips out the bass part for a dramatic entry in the middle of the piece, at the "Qui la..." build-up. A truly unacceptable change; it guts the song just as it is building to its climax. Apparently I can't post this without a rating, so I'll just have to follow the above review (and I do love Faure, in general), with a little held back for the Cantique.
