Hey, this Box set is wicked. I don't know what that other guy was on about, but you grow to love these cds. It's not really Underground Drum & Bass, it's the stuff that they want the public to see as Drum & Bass. so it is a bit of a change when you've been listening to Producers like Ed Rush & Optical, Badd Company, Ray Keith etc, with their fluid analogue basslines and dark atmospherics. The tracks on Pure Drum & Bass are not extremely dark, and all more or less feature the "Booming" LTJ Buckem basslines. Which are pretty cool. It's a good set to have if Drum & bass is your thing. All the tracks are raw, and unmixed, you get a real taste of what the tracks that are unmixed sound like, so these are the original songs. IF ... Read More:

As I opened the case of this incredible value-for-money compilation, I was not sure what to expect. Having seen the likes of Goldie and Aphrodite, two of my favourite DnB artists on the playlist, I knew that even if the rest was poor, these tracks were bound to impress. On pressing the play button, I was hit by the purest sounds I'd heard for a long time. Non-stop, powerful, attractive, and at sometimes inventive beats, with incredibly sexy breaks. If you like Drum and Bass, buy this! If you like it after that, Buy "Movement - Perpetual Drum and Bass". Heart warming stuff! Rinse-time!

I would have bought this CD alone for the second of the 2 CD's, tracks 2 and 4 particularly are awesome. I'm not sure "legends" is the right title for this CD, despite the majority of the songs being well known there are a few which seem to have been added just to make up the numbers.
