Having listened to Drum and Bass for a few years i thought the only real decent stuff you could get hold of was in the tape box sets (live recordings). However having listened to this, this easily the best drum and bass you can get on CD at the moment. Starting off pretty jumped up and lively it journeys through to finish off with some chilled out jazzy tunes. Great value for money - 60 tracks loved nearly all of them. BUY IT NOW!

this cd dates back to around 1996 when everything was still referred to as "jungle", and drum n bass was just starting to be recognised as a genre coming into it's own. this has some classics like bukem's "music", and alex reece's "sunshine", and other more obscure tracks which are just as beautiful like photek's "t'raenon" and intense's "sax lick". worth getting for those tracks alone...

As I opened the case of this incredible value-for-money compilation, I was not sure what to expect. Having seen the likes of Goldie and Aphrodite, two of my favourite DnB artists on the playlist, I knew that even if the rest was poor, these tracks were bound to impress. On pressing the play button, I was hit by the purest sounds I'd heard for a long time. Non-stop, powerful, attractive, and at sometimes inventive beats, with incredibly sexy breaks. If you like Drum and Bass, buy this! If you like it after that, Buy "Movement - Perpetual Drum and Bass". Heart warming stuff! Rinse-time!

When the box set first caught my eye it shocked me, six drum'n'bass cd's for £9.99! It was a bargain, the cheapest drum n bass cd I'd bought was £8.99 and that was on offer. The cd's are good, some of the dnb heavyweights make appearances like Dillinja and Lemon D on Disc 3. The set opens out with a blow-ya-mind ed rush and optical number, a good start, and the quality of the set is generally good, but I wouldn't class this as an essential buy, because unfortunately the bass lines can get boring and too repetitive to like, so the set is on my shelf of sometimes listen to cd's. I would have bought this CD alone for the second of the 2 CD's, tracks 2 and 4 particularly are awesome. I'm not sure "legends" is the right title for this CD, despite the majority of the songs being well known there are a few which seem to have been added just to make up the numbers.
