The recommendations offered by Patricia Fenn never fail to deliver on their promises. These guides have continued to prove execellent value for money. What you pay for the guide is more than made up for in terms of the quality accomodation and food you encounter when taking up the advice. The arrow system (updated to stars in this new edition) points you directly to the cream of the crop. This edition comes in an improved format with updates on a number of long standing entries. We found the best country hotel ever in a Patricia fenn guide an will always be grateful for this.

What of the wounds I could see in a leave photo after the Somme? The text only scratched the surface, raised more questions and turned this bit of family history into a hazzy nightmare. A black and white photo in the book shows the battlefield where I guess his remains lie burried. Perhaps I will take the book and a map and go for walk and try to understand a bit more.
