I'm writing this review after buying 4 copies for my company. As an advanced user (PowerPoint & Word) I used to give presentations for others on how to use the software to increase productivity. I'll be short and focussed about my opinions. Firstly, the ribbon interface! It looks very pretty and is a great idea for anyone new to Office. For any advanced user though its a different story. Firstly it cannot be customised (by default), so if you built your own toolbars in earlier versions then you're out of luck. Secondly, and most frustratingly, is where all the icons are positioned. Presently on PcPro's `A-List', Adobe Elements is a cut down version of Adobe's £500+ Photoshop/Photoshop Extended CS3, and costs considerably less while still having a lot of useful photo editing capabilities. Photoshop CS3 has a steep learning curve, but not so Photoshop elements. Elements is far more home-user friendly and a lot of the program is geared towards image storage and management of the photos on your hard drive. It also helps you with emailing, web output and scrapbooks of your images. The program auto-downloads your images from the camera to folders, set up using the date, and can even process the images, say automatically removing red-eye, while it does it. This is perhaps the most infuriating software I've ever used. Having had problems with earlier editions, I checked out the available books and bought the top choice with the software. I wish I hadn't bothered. Photoshop crashes most times I use it, throws up all sorts of error messages, despite installing it no less than three times. When it does work, the editor takes about five minutes to load, and the whole package is to me totally counter-intuitive. I'm going straight back to Picasa.

As my daughter is the one who's learning to drive, I thought it made more sense for her to write this review, so here it is... The DVD is really easy to use and provides a lot of useful tools. One thing I particularly noticed which I'm sure wasn't on the previous version was the help with the practical test too. This is particularly beneficial for me as I'm not able to do driving lessons now but it's helping to prepare me for the kind of things I will be learning about and the final test also - I'm sure this section will become even more relevant in the run up to the practical test. Back to theory - the tests have to be the best part in my opinion. It's so easy to go through them again and again and are ... Read More:

Thanks to Amazon reviewers, I uninstalled my previous version of Norton, ran the Norton removal tool downloaded from the website, installed as per instructions and have no problems. It runs scans in the background, cuts out viruses in spam without bothering me. The only reason for the 4 stars is that I haven't used the back up tool as I use Karen's Replicator with a Linux server and as double backup an external hard drive. Sorry, I don't trust Norton THAT much!

It runs scans in the background, cuts out viruses in spam without bothering me. It looks good but not the same as before so there is some relearning required. But the biggest surprise of all is that it is frustratingly slow. I have iWorks but bought this because my wife kept saying that MS office was better, but even she now admits it's not. Only buy this if you absolutely have to, or if you have more patience than me.

Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student Edition (3 User Licence) (PC) Just updated from 2003. what a brilliant programme, easy to install and very easy to use. I am not a professional user so this is great for us silver surfers to have. easy to install, easy to follow.

I was fortunate enough to be lent this DVD and in conjunction with the Theory CD passed my theory test first time around. That said, I am learning to ride a motorcycle as an experienced driver. The DVD progressively explains Hazards with a gradual emphasis on differentiating static hazards from Developing ones (ie ones which absolutely force a driver/rider to change speed or direction). This much is fairly obvious. I think to fully grasp the material it is worthwhile viewing 3 or 4 times to pick up on the subtleties and in spite of the narrators explaining that there is no benefit in resitting the example tests, I think it all reinforces the learning process so I would disagree.
