I recently purchased IS9 having done some pretty comprehensive research and running of different makes of trial software on a spare laptop. I was originally using Zone alarm but when they updated the software to new version it was a disaster with crashes/slowdowns/poor booting etc and the forum was full of unhappy bunnies. I watched and waited and although the next release was better it was still not good. I started researching. After many trials I settled on Kaspersky Internet Security 9.0. I had used a previous version so had a degree of familiarity. I installed this software after reading numerous good reviews even from PC Pro. I'm running Vista Business. As soon as i had installed it, the trouble started. Internet explorer kept crashing along with Outlook. Totally destabilised my system which before installing this junk software had been faultless. Home users stay away and go with something like AVG. I give it one star because it was easy to install.

Read all reviews and then purchased. Norton 360 loaded quickly, no hiccups, no nonsense. Am very impressed at how it works away quietly in the background with no reduction in speed of my laptop, in fact, in a few areas I believe it has quickened up. When it does prompt me, I am impressed at the level of sensibility of the questions. Very glad I purchased it. I would add though, that I am using a laptop that is only 6 months old, and with 4gig memory that I upgunned myself, so I can understand some others gripes. Lastly, somebody in Symantec may be listening: my disc arrived in a very small packet, no cardboard waste at all!

Best version of Windows, Works fine with WiFi I had an old Pentium III, 733Mhz PC with 256 MB RAM sat in a cupboard, decided to try loading XP but didn't want to spend a lot on the software. This OEM version is a good price and loaded without issue, also registered with Microsoft without a problem. Ok as it is OEM copy you are unlikely to get technical support from Microsoft. Windows XP (in my opinion) is by far the best version of Windows, very easy to install, stable and uses a reasonable amount of system resources (unlike Vista). XP Runs well on my old PC, which is now being used to serf the web. I have just purchased this, given all the good reviews. However, the installation process stops at a certain point(when the application config. wizard should appear)with no indication of the problem. There are no onscreen prompts and no troubleshooting section in the manual to help diagnose the problem. The customer service is a farce. The email address for technical support is wrong; I couldn't log onto any of the support websites and the automated phone service is 'manned' by a robot. Buyer, be very aware.

Within minutes of completing the acoustic optimisation procedure after installation you will be surprised at how quickly and naturally you can speak and how accurate the voice recognition is. For me, it was about 98% accurate and much faster than typing. Unfortunately, this was spoiled by a headset that pinches, even after being adjusted for size, and leaves you with a headache within fifteen minutes. This seemed more like a poorly designed product than a manufacturing error. The manual also states that the headset can be worn either way round. However, the earpiece is obviously designed to be worn over the left ear and is much less comfortable over the right. This is inconvenient if your computer is on your right. I have personally found 'Tiger' to be the most efficient OS X to date, and therefore a real favourite for a couple of years when I was working in a graphics department. Their is no doubt Leopard is a beautiful upgrade, containing a stated "300+ upgrades", however, it is by no means essential if you Mac is work work purposes. The extra features we've found are not for the productive side of things, but more for consolidating files, making things visually look better, and a few notable new programs. In short, Leopard would no doubt be a great update for the Media orientated users, but if you're all work and no play, it's actually not that essential. it took me a while to get all the cables i need for recording but when its all setup its a brilliant piece of kit highly recommended for gamers it does record in pal 50 but if you download amcap you can get it to record in pal 60 quality is also very good the software you get with it is rubbish for recording gaming would of preferd to get studio 11 or 12 but overall it is a good product xbox live gamers get it now! oh and 1 more thing dont waste your money on the platinum edition its not worth it this dazzle is just as good!! thanks! gt:chris 0wn3d u
