If you've been used to using previous versions, i'd say stick to them. Office 07 has a very different layout to its older versions. It can take some getting used to depending on how good you are at using computers. It took me a while to find some of the features i wanted, but i suppose thats because of the new additional features which make it easy to manipulate the text and have more control. If you just want to get things done quickly with no fuss i don't think this would be for you. But i really like it!

Have used Norton for 5yrs with no problems but this years renewal came around and couldnt access Norton web pages from AOL to download renewal, so what to do? Checked out prices for whole new package and Amazon the best by far. Received in couple of days but then dredding the actual update. Would AOL work afterwards and how many days would it take to get back online, last year with download renewal took 3 days!!! Well have just done the whole process including writing this review in 45 mins, WOW!!! All working brilliantly!! Did download uninstall tool from Norton first as recommended by other reviewers. Would advise any AOL users to go for it.

I bought this piece of software based on the reviews of others as a replacement for my current Internet Security software. I have managed to install it on all of my 3 machines. Two of my machines have already been upgraded to version 9. From the point of view of a home user, this piece of software is far too complexed for what I want from it. I now have applications and programmes that fail to run properly and even with my own knowledge of PCs, I am in no position to do anything about it. The software is far from user friendly. I have had the piece of software for about a fortnight and already I have ordered a replacement. As soon as it arrives, I will be uninstalling Kaspersky from all of my computers. I recently changed my ISP moving from Norton to McAfee, which were both supplied free of charge as part of my deal. McAfee was simply awful and left me feeling scared to use the Internet so I decided to purchase my own. After searching the Internet for reviews Kaspersky appeared to be well thought of so the purchase was made. Installation was an absolute doodle and I have to say I now feel that my PC is extremely well protected. What's more my PC runs much faster especially at start up, Kaspersky really uses much less CPU usage than any other anti virus / firewall that I have used before. It is so easy to use even someone with very limited computing knowledge will have no problems.

Have had no problems at all with word 2008, no crashes no speed problems. Tried using Mac Pages but pages has limited functionality, so use word.

Why pay a rip-off price from Microsoft when there are loads of good free email software programs that are just as good ?

I chose this from Amazon Vine as I felt I needed some protection for my laptop. Loads of people I know have it, I wish I'd stuck with the one I had which wasn't causing any problem. Now it's on, it just sits there on my computer changing from green to yellow to black depending on whether the site I'm on poses a threat for example. But good grief, installing it was a nightmare. It should be easy. I've installed software before. Pop the CD in and off you go. Not in this case. I had to reboot 5 times. It took a couple of hours. It completely crashed my laptop. A previous reviewer's advice is useful - delete anything that is incompatible with McAfee. If you do that, you may have a smoother ride. This is a licence for a three computer version - one set of installation files and a licence that can be registered for three computers in the same home. By Student version, your household computer users needs to include a student - a child in school (aged 5 to 18) or an 16+ person studying part or full time (or teaching) in a college/school/university. With a new version, one expects improvements and in this case there are many. The most obvious being the new menu system which takes a bit of getting used to but needs to be learnt as this will be the future. You get Word, Excel & PowerPoint as in previous versions but not Outline and no cheaper upgrade to Access. I bought the OEM disc to use on my Intel Mac also. The disc worked perfectly with no problems. I simply registered the product online with none of the problems the previous poster mentioned. I think there may be a problem if you attempt a second installation using a program like Parallels of VM Fusion as you are technically trying to register the product for a second time and this causes alarm bells to ring at Microsoft. But if you simply want to install on Bootcamp, this product is highly recommended.

I already had a backup/restore facility on my Acer laptop via so called Acer Empowering Technology. However it always took 3.5 hours to complete a full system backup which sometimes failed first time stretching the run time to an incredible 7 hours! Getting very fed up with this and having heard good reports on Acronis True Image I have just purchased the 11. version. Superb and so easy to set up and use. I did a full backup to an external hard drive in 24 mins and another to the Acronis Secure Zone partition I set up on my internal hard drive in 40 mins without a single hitch. Well done Acronis.
