Colourful, well presented. Options to interpret for both ones "professional" or "personal " self.
Variety of "print wheel" diagrams, easy use of the "astrological"
jargon. Scope to save individual charts and use of one of three "house systems".
Good all round package - my friends are impressed. I only wished I could save charts to disk!

Software : The Times Testing Series: Brain Teasers
This is good fun, and certainly stretches your brain. There are also brief explanations as to how the answers are arrived at, which is really good if you've never 'broken the code' of these types of puzzles. However, there is some repetition of questions (and I've only had the disk a week) and, unless I'm really more stupid that I thought I was, some of the answers are wrong according to the explanations - as in:

What is the next number in this sequence? 200, 197, 193, 188, 176, ?
My answer: Don't know!
Their answer 169 as sequence is 200 - 3, 197 - 4, 193 - 5, 188 - 6, 176 - 7
But surely 188 minus 6 is 182... and sequence between numbers is not 3, 4, 5, 6 but 3, 4, 5, 12.....

Still fun, and keeps ... Read More:

4.Create Your Own CV from: Focus Multimedia Ltd
December 27, 2002
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Software : Create Your Own CV
I bought this in the hope of making my cv drafting an easier process. Sadly, this hasn't proved to be as easy as I would have hoped.
The software is limited & not very flexible. I am not sure what other CR ROM are like but I wouldn't recommend buying this at full price.
Your money wld be better spent on a good cv book or looking for on line cv creating options.

5.The Times Testing Series: Test Your IQ from: The Times

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Software : The Times Testing Series: Test Your IQ
I bought this to prepare for a job inteview as I have never had to do an IQ test in my life and wanted to get familiar with the sorts of questions and formats of questions that I might expect in a test. The user interface is quite good, but what is the point of having question reviews when only (approximate guess) 1 out of 5 questions had an accompanying explanation! Great, they tell you what the right answer is (sometimes) but without an explanation so that you can get inside the examiners head, just an answer seems a bit pointless if you are no nearer understanding what they are after.

After all these tests don't really test your IQ in my humble opinion, they just test how good you are at the testing game.

If this hadn't ... Read More:

6.Instant Solutions CV Writer from: Avanquest Software

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Software : Instant Solutions CV Writer
This is the first CV software I have purchased and I have to say that it is not even worth its reasonable price. I don't know what else is out there on the market, but this software did not help me at all.

7.The Times Testing Series: Test Your Aptitude from: The Times

Software : The Times Testing Series: Test Your Aptitude
With this being a Times publication you'd probably expect this to be really professional wouldn't you? Well it's most certainly not! I found this item at my local library and as I was concerned about my future career and my job potential I thought this might help. Well if I wanted to be a proof reader it gave me some practice as there were a few silly mistakes such as spelling mistakes and on one multiple choice question the correct answer wasn't even an option! It didn't help me find anything about what careers I should do just threw out a few job titles of which many were science or technology related, my best subject at college is art! It doesn't have any information about these particular careers either. If you're really concerned about your career ... Read More:

Software : Manage Stress
Life has never been more complicated, or frenzied. Everyday we throw ourselves at the mercy of rush-hour commuter trains, jamming ourselves into tight-corners while contemplating a schedule that's even moreover crowded. Breakfast meetings merge into working-lunches, as we juggle a burgeoning workload and attempt to maintain the appearance that we're coping. It's no wonder that well over half of Londoners admit to being stressed. Or, that stress-related illnesses are at an all-time high.

Few would dispute that work stresses are inevitable. Deadlines become tighter by the week, and staff-shortages certainly don't help. But, what fireflies is that stress is actually a natural, healthy response to what's going on around us. As our environment speeds ... Read More:

10.Professional CV Plus from: Cosmi Europe Ltd
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

>>More Details
Software : Professional CV Plus
As with many of you reading this review must be, I am thinking of changing jobs. Like you I browsed the list of CV creators hoping to find a product that would make my CV easier to create and more professional looking. On paper (or screen!) this looked like the most bangs for my buck. MISTAKE!! This product works like an ancient DTP package and the 'tools' for CV specific tasks are pitiful. If you want to make life easier for yourself... choose something else.
