Have used Norton for 5yrs with no problems but this years renewal came around and couldnt access Norton web pages from AOL to download renewal, so what to do? Checked out prices for whole new package and Amazon the best by far. Received in couple of days but then dredding the actual update. Would AOL work afterwards and how many days would it take to get back online, last year with download renewal took 3 days!!! Well have just done the whole process including writing this review in 45 mins, WOW!!! All working brilliantly!! Did download uninstall tool from Norton first as recommended by other reviewers. Would advise any AOL users to go for it.

I was very hesitant at first to buy this particular software. But I haven't got any regrets after I bought this. As many others mentioned this software does not eat a lot of CPU power. The protection offered by this software is as good as its competitors, if not better. I initially wanted to try it for the complete trial period but after 7 days of trying this software. I felt that I should buy it and did so immediately. I was surprised to see some infection in my computer which Norton did not pick-up and to my horror they were root-kits. Fortunately I do not use my online bank account on my home computer. I am much more than satisfied with this purchase and although I bought KIS-7 I was able to upgrade to the latest KIS-2009 free of charge with the same ... Read More:

I recently changed my ISP moving from Norton to McAfee, which were both supplied free of charge as part of my deal. McAfee was simply awful and left me feeling scared to use the Internet so I decided to purchase my own. After searching the Internet for reviews Kaspersky appeared to be well thought of so the purchase was made. Installation was an absolute doodle and I have to say I now feel that my PC is extremely well protected. What's more my PC runs much faster especially at start up, Kaspersky really uses much less CPU usage than any other anti virus / firewall that I have used before. It is so easy to use even someone with very limited computing knowledge will have no problems.

I already had a backup/restore facility on my Acer laptop via so called Acer Empowering Technology. However it always took 3.5 hours to complete a full system backup which sometimes failed first time stretching the run time to an incredible 7 hours! Getting very fed up with this and having heard good reports on Acronis True Image I have just purchased the 11. version.

Superb and so easy to set up and use. I did a full backup to an external hard drive in 24 mins and another to the Acronis Secure Zone partition I set up on my internal hard drive in 40 mins without a single hitch. Well done Acronis.

I use Norton 2008 and it does the job fine. Old versions of Norton had a reputation for being a bit slow but 2008 seems pretty good - and faster than my old AVG. I haven't used Ghost so can't comment on that part.

Why is Anti-virus important? While the Internet is a great resource, harmful Viruses and other malware can be a real threat, not only because of the possibility of causing havoc on ones computer, but there could also potentially be a threat to personal details. The good news is, more computer users are becoming aware of this and are installing Anti-virus Software to protect themselves. This is partly due to Microsoft implementing the security centre in XP SP2 and Vista that pops up warnings if no Anti-virus software is installed, which is a good feature especially for the more novice. The bad news is, there's now a market literally littered with different Anti-virus solutions from various software providers, so knowing which is the best solution can be confusing. ... Read More:

It works really well with Windows XP, but as soon as I installed it on my new Windows Vista PC, nothing worked anymore. The whole computer freezes up. Upon restarting the computer and uninstalling Bullguard Version 8 (previous versions did not work with Vista at all I believe) computer works fine again. Tried this several times and decided to look for a different Virus Package.Did a search on the internet to see if anyone else had a problem and it seems I am not alone!

I've had it for 6 months now. I'm now in the process of re-installing it YET AGAIN; this is now the 5th time. Each time I have to re-install it gives me a message stating: AN ERROR HAS PREVENTED OneCare FROM INSTALLING A REQUIRED UPDATE. Why? The Help pages are useless. They give you a long list of things to do: none of which work. Seeing as how my machine is on dial-up for the Internet, it takes about 3 hours to download it again. Being on Tesco internet, it automatically disconects you after 2 hours. Great. So you get a window saying the download failed, and would you like to re-try. You say YES and then it takes you back to square one. If you're lucky, it may have got far enough to carry on from where you were when you were disconnected, but not every time.

One thing about Symantec products is they work, if you just want a good anti-virus scanner that is simple to use and that is simple to keep up to date then this is the answer. The user interface if minimal, allowing you to scan your drives individually or all at once as well as manually running the update program. Other than installing it and letting it run a full system scan every now and then there is nothing to do, the software runs in the background; along with the auto updater.

had bitdefender 9 for two years and rated that superb.would rate this nearly as highly, but must admit takes slightly longer to load up from start up.been using now for about 4 months, no real moans, had no problems like slowing down the speed of my PC, so can,t understand some of these reviews? must admit the interface is not as easy to understand as 9 was, so takes a bit of getting used to where everything is! but apart from that a good buy all round!
