A typical Excel/VBA program of mine takes just over 8 min to run under Office 2003 on an Athlon 64 1.79Hz pc with 1GB RAM. The identical program takes 5 min LONGER under Office 2007 on a faster Intel duo-core T8100 with 3 GB RAM. One can get used to the new toolbar layout etc, but this slower performance is there to stay.

This digital imaging suite is fantastic, and very well thought out. It does justice to the pics i take on my olympus camera.I purchased the book "classroom in a book" also by adobe which is very clearly presented.It costs a fraction of photoshop cs3 but does most of what it can do. All in all a bargain!!

I bought this CD a few weeks ago, and used it every few days in short bursts. I found the chart that shows your progress over time very useful, it allows you see your achievement in all the different topic areas to show you what areas you may need to go over. Brilliant product, I scored 49/50 for my theory, I knew I was going to pass as the DVD told me so!!! The hazard perception part of the DVD is very impressive too, for this part of the test I scored a respecable 62/77 - the pass mark is 44 !!! Sooooo close to the real thing - its almost cheating!! Having used Norton for years, the 2006 version virtually stopped a new PC, so I tried Kaspersky, just like a new PC should be. I read all the reports this year about Norton having the speed issue sorted, and bought this version, what a mistake. The PC is down to a crawl,I had to turn off the anti phishing completely, it wouldn't allow sites with paypal to operate, internet explorer just stopped. OK the scan speed is faster, but I want a PC to work as well. As far as I am concerned, Norton has had its last chance, I cannot wait to get rid of it once and for all.

Originally Symantec allowed me to download 2008 free when i was using 2007 on Windows XP and i liked what i saw. The new programme takes complete control of your computer to such an extent that to some it may be overpowering but along with McAfee,Norton is one of the best sellers in Virus Software. If you are accustomed to using 2007 then you will certainly like 2008 as it is set out logically similarly to 2007. Norton 2008 looks in certain ways very similar to the previous 2007 and operates in a very similar way but the entire programme has been vastly improved appearence wise and there are fewer boxes to tick but the new software automatically asks you do you want to run Live Update or allow this programme to run. The new Microsoft Office 2007 has a totally different interface as oppsoed to the old 2003 vresion. I find it much easier and clearer, it takes a bit of gettin use to if you have used the previous version. It also has a lot of different features and it makes whatever you're using Microsoft Office for easier.

I have been using Office 2008 and Office 2004 in parallel for a while, and after a few weeks I have decided to uninstall the full Office 2008 package. Office 2008 (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is slower than the 2004 version, crashes (more) often, does not support macro's or VB, nor can I run EndNote. It also does not seem fully compatible with the PC version. Entourage 2008 appears to be OK, and is probably better than the 2004 version, but Mail and iCal are equally good alternatives and I do not miss it. This is in my view the worst version of Office around, and I do not recommend upgrading.

I bought this copy of Windows XP from Amazon to install on an new intel-based Mac running Leopard. Purchasing an OEM copy was the cheapest way I could find to set up a genuine copy of Windows. I was a bit concerned about whether the process would work for an individual user, but I was reassured by the previous reviews. Installation was easy. The product key worked fine. I installed it using on the Mac using boot camp partition and use VM fusion to open it. Following installation Windows wanted activation and I left this for a few days while I sorted some other issues out.
