61.Microsoft Works 2000 from: Microsoft
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

>>More Details
Software : Microsoft Works 2000
I grew up using Microsoft Works. First with Microsfot Works 2. Now on to Microsoft Works 2000. Its has changed competely from the old version. Far more easier to use. The hunders of templates makes all tasks far simpler. From writing a formal letter to catalouging your music collection. Works 2000 is a program i would find life impossible without. To write letters. To work out my finances. Everything.

62.Office OneNote 2003 from: Microsoft

Software : Office OneNote 2003
As an inveterate user of the Notes feature within Outlook, OneNote was the application I didn't know I needed. Easy to install and intuitive to use I can fully endorse this software. You can even download a 60 day trial from Microsoft which is more than enough to give it a thorough test drive.

There are two modest issues to be aware of. First is that the OneNote database (i.e. where all your scribblings live) can get quite big depending on how you use OneNote. You will need a fairly up-to-date PC with sufficient RAM. I feel that Microsoft's stated system requirements are at best optimistic. Second is you do want to back this up (just like everthing else) onto separate media.

Right, where to start!
So you're thinking about getting Vista and don't want to pay the full amount for the retail version? This OEM edition is ideal then; it is the same as the retail version without the packaging. The only restriction is that once installed, the software has to stay with that motherboard. So effectively, if your motherboard dies, so does your copy of Vista. But don't see that as a negative, Vista dying on you will mean you have to revert back to your XP copy, which is good news!
You have two ways to install Vista on a machine already running XP. You can install it on top of XP or wipe the hard drive and start a fresh. The latter is what I wanted to do, but the drivers I have for my RAID configuration are not recognised by Vista ... Read More:

This is something a lot of people want to know when trying to decide on an encyclopedia to buy as i have been also. There are lots of conflicting reviews here on amazon, one's got more articles the other more multimedia content blah blah blah.

Basicaly I've just done a web search on the subject and found a review of both 2007 products from PC Advisor magazine. Basicaly the results were Encarta wins hands down. I won't list every single point on which one is better than the other because at the end of the day if you want to read the review you can easily find it with google and I'm trying to keep this brief. However the main issue they had with Britannica was that it was highly US biast (even the dictionary it says is in US English and maps only go ito ... Read More:

I had the opportunity to try out Vista Business and what a load of over featured rubbish, how can anyone do any work with all that going on? Even if you set the options to look like XP you might as well stick with XP and save your money. I am a home user but I hate gimmicks and soon despatched the sidebar stuff. The new Mail program is confusing and I do not like WMP 11, much prefer WMP 9 which I use with XP Professional.

I tried it on a Virtual Machine first and was disappointed and thought it might be the limitations of that so decided to run it properly and after creating an NTFS partition to dual boot with XP Pro Setup was very easy and you felt shut out and my first thoughts were "hey even an idiot could do this setup" and then I found that when you do a defrag ...
