Have used Norton for 5yrs with no problems but this years renewal came around and couldnt access Norton web pages from AOL to download renewal, so what to do? Checked out prices for whole new package and Amazon the best by far. Received in couple of days but then dredding the actual update. Would AOL work afterwards and how many days would it take to get back online, last year with download renewal took 3 days!!! Well have just done the whole process including writing this review in 45 mins, WOW!!! All working brilliantly!! Did download uninstall tool from Norton first as recommended by other reviewers. Would advise any AOL users to go for it.

I upgraded to version 2.0 of Norton 360, largely because version 1.0 had stopped working. Uninstalling and reinstalling had failed to solve the problem, and as anyone who has used Norton software will doubtless know, it isn't designed to be easily removed (it has a lot in common with some viruses in that sense). Hence I didn't opt to use a different anti-virus package, in case of a conflict. The upgrade of 360 went smoothly, and so far, this version seems much better than the original. It still has lots of functionality I don't use, and it's still slowing my PC down somewhat. But it's doing the job I need it to do. I use Norton 2008 and it does the job fine. Old versions of Norton had a reputation for being a bit slow but 2008 seems pretty good - and faster than my old AVG. I haven't used Ghost so can't comment on that part.

One thing about Symantec products is they work, if you just want a good anti-virus scanner that is simple to use and that is simple to keep up to date then this is the answer. The user interface if minimal, allowing you to scan your drives individually or all at once as well as manually running the update program. Other than installing it and letting it run a full system scan every now and then there is nothing to do, the software runs in the background; along with the auto updater.

I bought this in a deal when i bought my laptop. i was cautious towards Norton because i had Norton 2005 before this, which was extremely slow and sluggish. The installation speed was extremely slow, but much to my delight, installed properly first time, which is always nice! Since then, in 14 months, i have never had one problem with my laptop, whether that was also down to the laptop being a Toshiba or not thats irrelevant. I can safely surf the web, buying my shopping online, which has even converted my parents to it! The alert system is good, it alerts you when it finds a tracking cookie, and usually minimizes all programs just to make sure (which can be annoying!) Okay, i'm up to date with modern technology and a bit behind when it comes with virus protection, lets say not as experienced as some and probably one of the youngest to comment on a product. I currently am using Norton nternet Security and thought about buying this product. But one word of advice you should consider. At the start the sign up to "Norton" is free. For a whole year it will do its job successfully, it does benefit from a simple user interface and isn't doesn't regularly demand attention. Its good for that i sing its praise. But after one year of the product, exactly 365 days. The product basically turns off. Its still monitors the basics but no longer recieves updates, so the risk is the same as before. Upgraded my Norton Antivirus and got a very good price. Very happy with its utility and a smooth operator! Decent anti virus, firewall, ID protection and PC tune up. Very handy back-up/restore function too. Well worth paying a few more pounds over and above basic anti-virus/firewall packages.

I'm amazed there's so many negative reviews of this product as my own experience is completely different. Having used TrueImage 11 Home and Ghost 10 in the past with mixed results on a Vista machine I thought I might get similar problems making and restoring from backups? Nope, Ghost 14 has worked without a glitch, and does everything Its supposed too. I've used it on two machines, one a laptop, and they have both been restored more than once after I messed around with other software and caused driver problems. I'm more than happy and would recommend this product.

If you are accustomed to using 2007 then you will certainly like 2008 as it is set out logically similarly to 2007.
