Several of the reviews on here are not for The Haunted Carousel but are for other Nancy Drew games. My nine year old found this quite easy compared to other ND games and not as good as Treasure in the Royal Tower or Message in a Haunted Mansion. The Second Chance option is useful at the very end. Saving your game regularly is also recommended.

My kids absolutely love Cat in the hat living book and so, I bought this CD hoping they would enjoy it just as much. Unfortunately, they're not very interested in it. I think the CD itself is very good, easy to install and is an entertaining way for young children to know their ABCs. However, if you're expecting a story, songs or rhymes then you're in for a dissappointment.

I have bought loads of different cd-roms for my little boy who's now nearly 5 and have encountered numerous problems, but this program is really good! We have experienced issues with the software from Dorling Kindersley, but these cd's run without problems, also on XP, which is not listed under programs on the Amazon site. The games are challenging enough to keep him interested, but still learning through play, so that he doesn't lose his patience as he has done with others. It was really important for me to find a way of helping him forwards with reading and writing, without him "realising it" as he hates "traditional learning" through copying letters etc and I think this is finally it!
