I have used Kaspersky Internet Security V 6.0 for 18 months and have had no problems. Tried to renew my licence but Kaspersky will not renew V 6.0 and you have to upgrade to Internet Security V 7.0. Being cautious (from a previous similar incident a couple of years ago with another AV provider) I downloaded a trial version of Kaspersky Anti Virus V 7.0 first. The problem is that it now seems to work by totally preventing you from accessing the web or your emails!!! Very effective but not much use and I can do equally as well by simply not logging on. For example, whilst it will open a website - BBC for instance - if you try to open one of the sub menus - TV- the whole thing hangs. Tried to open Hotmail Live from Messenger ... Read More:

SD is, in my opinion, a great product, but I have established (after many years of use) that their customer service is truly dreadful. Recently, I took out a subscription for Spyware Doctor . I had had a previous version of SD with Antivirus, but didn't want to pay for antivirus software I don't need/want, so I uninstalled the old version and bought a completely NEW subscription of SD (ONLY). I downloaded the software and ran the executable, following the instructions, but when I click on the 'Spyware Doctor' shortcut (or go through start>programs), I am told that I need to perform a Smart Update to download the malware removal databases (it doesn't open up the regular SD window). I just needed this to limit kids' time on the PC. It works in that once the time limit is exceeded it won't let them download more, tho' the pages already downloaded continue to work; and non-internet time isn't limited. Also blocks specific times of day if required. Filtering not so great though, if that's a concern -- perfectly innocent pix rejected as "adult content". HOWEVER, you should be aware that this product digs itself deep into the operating system, and once installed, uninstalling can be a mess. Reinstalling is impossible without technical assistance, since their database remembers you and stops you installing a second time. Ok... I am partly self employed..so I figured this might be a useful product to test drive. The problem is that you need really to have some accounting experience to set it all up. If you run your own business and do all your account maybe on spread sheets..this is probably a good solution for you. It's going to take me a good while to get my head around this...and my time is pretty scarce...so maybe I'll update this later
