I have used many different virus, firewall and security programmes over the last ten years and this is by far the best.

It was easy to load and the screens are clear and helpful.

It is intuitive to use and clicking the help button actually gives the help you require - I find that is not usually the case with most programmes - it looks like someone has actually put some thought into what help might be required - three cheers for Trend Micro!

It also just sits quietly and gets on with the job - I have got sick of security programmes that keep asking the same obvious question.

I would recommend the Pro version.

The programme is not cheap, but I consider it excellent value for money. ... Read More:

A soon as I loaded this software problems started. The instructions are not very clear so perhaps I did something wrong, but things started happening like the firewall being turned of, or error messages saying that the disk on the destination drive had a problem. Now, to start up Save & Restore, takes about 15 minutes; although the first back up worked fine, since then it tells me that it hasn't created a back up point; when I tried to make a system restore disk ( Save & Restore said the restore disk supplied was lacking 2 drivers) the whole computer crashed in error messages about Driver Mining failed... The instruction manual did not explain anything so I went on the Symantec "Chat Helpline". The "technician" took over control of my computer, ... Read More:

Software : Norton Antivirus 2008 Upgrade (PC)

If you are thinking of upgrading from a stable version of Norton Antivirus just to renew your subscription DONT unless you absolutely have to ! I did that and this version - 2008 NAV Upgrade - had such a serious bug that I gave up trying to fix it - when I uninstalled and reloaded the 2007 version (which was stable at least for me) - Symantec was unable to transfer the subscription - so the one thing I was after (subscription renewal) was ruined. SO - if you don't need to upgrade and just want the subscription renewed - just do that and save yourself some money and a BIG headache - or 5 hours online with Symantec trying to get it sorted out. If it's not broke - don't upgrade - just pay for a renewed subscription on the old package - that's my two pence ... Read More:

This product sounds good - but is a serious pain to try and get up and running on your PC! Installing is quick, but then the problems start - I was offered an upgrade to the latest version and thought this was sensible so went ahead. The subsequent installation sent my ant-virus program and firewall application into a frenzy and I had to reinstall from scratch. When it eventually is up and running it takes forever to create a reasonable size 'safe' and even on my modern, memory rich, PC it slowed everything down to a crawl while that process took place.

Frankly, this is a poor product and very disappointing - there must be better products out there to do the job and I'm off to find them now. But first I'll uninstall this and chuck it in the bin.

I upgraded my daughter's computer from Norton Internet Security 2005 to 2007 but it would would not complete properly - it would not run and locked up the computer. I tried to uninstall but it would not allow me to do this - eventually I managed to reboot and do a system recovery back to before the installation. No way am I going to try it on any of our other machines.

If you are thinking of buying it, google "norton user forum" and look on the Topix site. At the last check, there were over 200 people reporting problems with this product. How on earth do they test their software - certainly not on the average user's setup!!!

After struggling for months with the dreadful Norton 360, I'm so glad that I've managed to find a stable, simple, non-infuriating security system which doesn't slow my PC to a crawl.

I'm sure that none of the systems on the market are 100% perfect - but the vast gulf between this product and Norton makes a 5 star rating entirely reasonable.

tried all the suites, not really found a suitable protection that didn't feel top heavy, maybe mcafee 2008, so wanted to try a basic antivirus. This seemed ok, speedy rotation of web pages and nice clean interface. But I was concerned how such old software copes with he modern internet perils. Not brilliant as it happens, nothing flagged up, found sever slow down so suspected something amiss? Just ran the windows live one care free scanner to see if anything obvious was lurking and low and behold some nasty red warning symbols appeared. Makes me wonder on the security if windows defender can pick up stuff. More than likely its just a little too dated now. Not really recommended for todays use. I think 2006 onwards fares better, will be trying 2006 version which looks like much ... Read More:
