Having used Final Cut Express 3.5 for a while now, and after editing numerous projects I welcomed version 4's release however I must admit to being rather disappointed. The new features seem next to non-existant and although Apple are really pushing the new version I would be tempted to go with version 3.5 as your paying a lot less and getting basically the same package. Parhaps when version 5 is released in the future it will be a bit more of a step forward as opposed to a step sideways.

I wouldn't wish this software even in my enemies PC's. It doesn't even pass the installation stage. Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 complained more than 50 times that the instalation sequence was trying to run illegal processes, performing suspicious actions (for instance actions aking to rootkit installation). It will install no matter what many Macrovision related files (under the InstallShield folders). Macrovision as far as I remember was the company responsible for the Sony's music CD's rootkit affair. The end result for me will mean cleaning my hard disk totally and start again by reinstalling Windows (XP sp2). I HAVE USED THIS PRODUCT BEFORE AND I REALLY HAD A GOOD EXPERICE WITH IT PROVIDED EVERYTHING I WAS LOOKING FOR SO I DECIDED TO GET ONE FOR MY ON USE ON MY OWN SYSTEM.

Avoid this software if you have a portable media device you want to watch movies on, not just because it wont convert protected movies but it has difficulty with unprotected ones as well. It is difficult to use, slow and the online tutorials are difficult to follow

I used this program before my theory test and it has really helped me pass. Both the mock tests for the multiple choice part and the hazard perception clips are exactly like the real thing, a lot of effort seems to have been put into making practising feel exactly like taking a real test. Functions like, in a hazard perception test, seeing exactly when you should have clicked, or being able to print out mock tests, are a great help and make this program really good. Owners of older PCs be warned however: This program didn't go easy on my PC and used a lot of both RAM and processing power (I have 2GB and 2.4GHz x2). Apart from that, a really good product - I'd recommend it to anyine taking their driving test.

As a business user I don't really have anything good to say about Office 2007. The new interface now requires 3-4 mouse clicks where 2-3 were needed previously. Many of the keyboard shortcuts no longer work or don't work the way they used to (I don't use the mouse very often). It's not possible to customise the menu structure to any extent as Microsoft have imposed the "ribbon" structure with it's fixed content. Many of the highlight colours just don't stand out e.g. highlighting text is pink on a white background but highlighted buttons are a sort of yellow colour. There are also only 3 colour schemes available, blue, silver or black. None is particularly attractive and none is particularly clear. Differentiating between several windows often not ... I struggled with the voice tracker. The instruction books and text size is too small and is dfficult for me to read. The Phillips voice tracker is also too small and therefore the buttons are difficult to see and understand for new users. I expect it will be OK when I have used this item more but a disappointing start. So far the Dragon software looks very promising.

As with most of the other reviewers here, once installed the software suffers from multiple crashes, very long start up and loading times and if you try to add text to any part of your production, once you click enter you watch the screen through squinted eyes hoping it won't crash. I cannot comment on SDV as I only use HDV from my Sony HDV camcorder (which I do not import directly, but to my hard drive via HDVSplit a free software and then into Elements) but when rendering, it's useful to have a book handy as you'll need to do something whilst the computer chugs away as I have found that for every second shown left remaining whilst rendering, in reality every second is woth five or more. I have tried to burn four DVD's, one after the other to save time, but the system ... Read More:
