Photoshop CS3 is wonderful and a real joy to use. We were not naive enough to feel it could run on an older less powerful machine. We purchased a new PC especially to run Photoshop CS3, with a lot of memory and running XP Professional, and have hardly anything else running on this machine so that other software does not clutter things up etc. CS3 loaded very easily. After installing the upgrades - 260MB - we started to use it for our day to day image processing. You download your images directly from your card into Bridge and then open them as RAW files. Camera RAW 4.1 is amazing and you will find your images benefit greatly from using this software. After this processing in Photoshop CS3 is smooth and very reliable. Read More:

I have used this for a couple of years now and rely on it for all my photo needs. It is truly a fantastic program. The cataloguing function enables you to find any photo within seconds. I have approx 16,000 photos in my computer and this program has them all tagged for instant retrieval. The editing functions enable you to do pretty much anything and would be all you could want unless you are a professional. Its worth getting a book to help with the more advanced functions if you want to experiment.

I ordered this from Amazon who as usual offered a very competative price and good delivery, so no argument there at all. However, the software is very disappointing. The major issue being that know where on any of the Quickbooks documentation or on the Intuit websites does it tell you this will not allow you to load any previous Quickbooks company files. Our business is very simple, no stock, no salaries to pay, the only complication being VAT (which I now understand it calculates incorrectly anyway). We don't need all the functions in the Pro version at all, so this looked ideal. So be warned, look else where if you already use another version of Quickbooks. There are so many of these programs on the market these days the choice gets rather bewildering. This package is a fraction of the price of some of the allegedly better-known programs, yet I find it hard to imagine what more anyone would need from genealogy software. Family Tree Legends is easy to use out of the box and is quite intuitive - yet the manual is comprehensive and easy to understand if you get stuck. Easy for the beginner, there's plenty of 'growing room' as you get drawn in to this fascinating hobby and plenty of extras too. Highly recommended.

I just bought 7.5 from Amazon and a few days later noticed that 8.0 was available. As the other reviews said, the upgrade to v8.0 was free! Just follow the link from the Help button in 7.5 and plug in your old licence number to get a new one. Upgrade went smoothly on my Vista laptop. I had one failed installation on the XP desktop. After disabling 7.5, the installation wizard carried on successfully, removing 7.5 and installing 8.0 without a glitch. It's soooo much better looking than 7.5. It looks modern and modular, not clunky and amateurish like previous AVG versions. It also reads across all the settings (schedules etc.) over all pc users rather than having to set them individually in each user account. It looks great. ... Read More:

One thing about Symantec products is they work, if you just want a good anti-virus scanner that is simple to use and that is simple to keep up to date then this is the answer. The user interface if minimal, allowing you to scan your drives individually or all at once as well as manually running the update program. Other than installing it and letting it run a full system scan every now and then there is nothing to do, the software runs in the background; along with the auto updater.

Well, I can't say I wasn't warned. I read the Amazon reviews regarding this product, but wondered if some of it wasn't just a few people suffering from that well known disease Hate-Microsoft-itis. So I wasted my hard-earned money and bought this. Big mistake. My computer (which is state-of-the-art) now takes at least twice as long to start up and Outlook 2007 has crashed at least once a day since it was installed, though it's usually a lot more often. I don't have a problem with the interface, I think it was due for an overhaul and whilst it does take some getting used to, most of it is pretty intuitive. But this software is very unstable.
