Okay, i'm up to date with modern technology and a bit behind when it comes with virus protection, lets say not as experienced as some and probably one of the youngest to comment on a product. I currently am using Norton nternet Security and thought about buying this product. But one word of advice you should consider. At the start the sign up to "Norton" is free. For a whole year it will do its job successfully, it does benefit from a simple user interface and isn't doesn't regularly demand attention. Its good for that i sing its praise. But after one year of the product, exactly 365 days. The product basically turns off. Its still monitors the basics but no longer recieves updates, so the risk is the same as before. Then comes the constant ... Read More:

One of the better software packages of this type. I found the music editor (for getting rid of major "clicks") excellent, although you're better of using a graphics tablet and pen for greater accuracy.
Gets rid of most the basic vinyl faults easily and quickly, to leave a good recording to burn on cd.
I found one good example of this software in work on YouTube, well worth tracking down.
On the downside, AC Lab (when I put a split mp3 track) annoyingly did not load the second part, but other software does, also refused to load mp2 tracks, again other software does...
The manual still leaves a lot to be desired, and as some of the help screen has some of the index titles and the actual screen dumps in German a certain ... Read More:

As a new Mac convert, I have spent over 20 years with PC's, working with the usual Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). This package came pre-installed with a 30 day demo. I tried it out and it is rather good.

Pages (Word) can be used like a standard word processor or like a DTP package, linking boxes of text to flow from one part to the other. Inserting graphics is easy and changing the layout is even easier.

Numbers (Excel) is like a simpler version. A neat thing is if you highlight a group of numbers, it lists the total, average, mean etc at a glance.

Keynote (Powerpoint) is easier to work with than Microsoft's version, and the transitions are far more polished and better animated. ... Read More:

i bought this software for myself as i am soon to start my lessons. I can honestly say that it is a great programe and very helpful. The video lessons and then being able to try it out yourself, whilst being guided throughout is so encouraging.

I would say however, that if you want it to work best, you need a very big RAM, i thought mine was big enough, but if it isn't, you can't always understand what the instructor is saying in the video's and sometimes it picks up on faults that you haven't made. A little bit frustrating but well worth your money.

Quite frankly, I gave up on McAfee security software even earlier than I dumped Symantec/Norton, but I was pleasantly surprised by McAfee Total Protection 2008. That being said, I have to issue a caveat here. I did not install this product on my primary computer, as I'm quite happy with the security software I've been using - but I figured I would give this software a try on one of my secondary computers. My parents use this particular computer more often than I do, so I basically just needed something to help safeguard an email client and keep nasty web entities (viruses, spyware, adware) at bay during limited Internet access. That means I can't really speak to a lot of the more advanced capabilities of this product, as my parents aren't exactly adventurous ... Read More:

I bought this based on having had the print version as a child and the advertising saying that contained everything that is in the print version. If it is I cannot find it. Anything I have looked up has no more than a few paragraphs of information. Disappointed and would not bother with it much now as the few times I have referred to it, it has given little information and not the information I sought

Having been a very heavy user of Office for more years than I care to remember, Office 2007 is a huge backward step (similar to Vista over XP). Microsoft have clearly lost their way, and this is a ploy to get large sums of money for a poorer product.

For existing users of Office 2003, stick with it. Do not upgrade, you WILL be disappointed !

For new users, go for the free OpenOffice. For most functions it more than competes with MS Office and very similar to office 2003.

Upgraded my Norton Antivirus and got a very good price. Very happy with its utility and a smooth operator! Decent anti virus, firewall, ID protection and PC tune up. Very handy back-up/restore function too. Well worth paying a few more pounds over and above basic anti-virus/firewall packages.
