I have never left a review before as I have never been so incensed. This software is appalling. It crashes frequently and produces beer mats at a rate any production line would be proud of. If that's what you're after, go with it !! As for creating slide shows etc, forget it !

Really pleased with this programme. Our 8 year old loves it. Just one note of caution though; as this is an American programme the notation refers to "quarter notes" etc. and not "crotchets and quavers", but this will not prove a problem I am sure. Highly recommended!

I bought this a while ago, whilst it does have some useful application, e.g. cutting tracks, splitting, and allowing you to mix tracks together it leaves the sound of the final saved MP3 tinny. There are free MP3 editors on the web which will do a better cutting job for you and save in the original format. This is one faster and two doesnt disrupt the sound after editing. I cant even say that you get what you pay for as I am now using much better freeware over this piece of kit for the editing; the useful features such as audio mixing are the only part I still may use but even then I avoid it due to the poor sound quality post saving.

Don't buy this as a cheap version of Sibelius. It is badly designed, comes with very poor instuctions and is extremely crash-prone. The worst music-typesetting programme I have ever used. Avoid.

Like a fool I tried this as an upgrade from version 7 - boy what a mistake. This version is hard to navigate, whereas version 7 was far more 'intuitive' as to where to go to get what you wanted done. Needless to say I reverted back to version 7 to stave off extreme frustration.

This is one of the easiest pieces of software i have ever used for music creation. The whole loop thing in ACID is great and you can manipulate the loops in all sorts of ways. I used to have version 1 which came free with my CD Burner and i loved it. The only thing lacking was the ability to add my own synth sounds on top of the song i had created with the loops. Now i can!! as it comes with a free sampler synth which uses midi to get the sound in ACID. It's much easier i find than other DAW packages that can use ACID loops and it does so much more with effects on each track and VST support. The audio engine is super solid and it's not CPU hungry. Love it!!!
