I bought this after my flymo finally bit the dust (thank goodness, because it was awful!). It is incredibly light, and as other reviewers have said, it is easy to carry one-handed through the garage to the garden, leaving the other hand free to open doors etc. The collection box is quite small, and on my lawn I have to empty it at least 5 times, but that is a minor point overall. This also gives you an excuse to pause for a sip of cold beer on a hot day! Cable is not very long, but that is easily solved with a decent extension lead. What a disappointment! What at first appeared to be a rugged, well made and simple to set-up device just can't do the job. It failed to catch the edges, and what's more, the plastic-blade (on a reel) repeatedly kept getting warped or simply cut off! Not what I expect from Bosch - you can do a whole lot better.

I bought this strimmer because it was on offer. That was a mistake. The performance was adequate when it was new, but has dropped off badly to the point where I rarely use it. The main problem is the cassette; it sticks so that line has to be fed by turning the machine upside down and extending it manually. And the head keeps falling off. I have now lost part of it so can't use the machine even if I wanted to. Spares are almost impossible to buy. I have managed to find spools, but I need the whole casette unit and nobody seems to have any. Stick to one of the commoner makes. My old Black and Decker lasted years and rarely faltered, and spares were never a problem.

An excellent product,this 1400 watt baby Bosch was easily as powerful as the 1700 watt karcher it replaced.It feels well built (in Italy) and the 6kg weight means it does'nt topple over.It comes with 3 different heads.A standard fan-jet,which is adjustable from wide to pencil.a roto-head,which is a sort of rotating pencil and my favorite the flexi-jet, whereby water comes out at 45'degrees meaning you can clean conservatory roofs or under cars or just at a sort of chisel angle on patios (u can set the angle).This machine is more than powerful enough for normal car and garden cleaning and in reasonable time frames aswell.In no way gimmicky like the £30 chain store specials this is better than entry level.I bought this on spec hoping that Bosch would come ... I bought this trimmer at the same time as buying the Bosch Rotak 37 Li cordless lawnmower. The Trimmer uses replaceable plastic blades as opposed to nylon line. I have previously used nylon line trimmers and found it difficult at first to get used to this product. However after a few uses use I now find it every bit as effective. One advantage is that the blades are very easy to replace. (My wife is absolutely delighted in this respect) The trimmer is very light and powerful. So much easier as you would expect without a power cord. The 18V Lithium battery is more than adequate. It uses the same battery as my PSR 18V Li-2 Battery Drill which is a bonus. Thought this was very good idea, as I hate pulling cords around the garden, so bought Bosch as brand has a good reputation, but went to use the strimmer for first time this year and battery is not holding a charge, and it was two weeks out of warranty, and considering it has not been used for the last 5/6 months this is very annoying, and the new battery costs more than a new strimmer, so will probably go buy a corded machine, and probably not Bosch, very disapointing.
