This is a really excellent childrens game. The construction means you have to hold the barrel with one hand while pushing a sword into it with the other hand so you really get a jolt if the pirate pops out. Everyone from Great Grandparents to 3 year olds love it in our family. It's a great game to bring out onto the dinner table after a meal and everyone can join in. It's completely random who wins each time. It's very funny and the pirate really does jump out a long way. Highly recommended.

This toy is not good value for money! The train is supposed to follow the pen's track but unless the track is really thick it will not know wehre to go, my boys found it frustrating. The Pens came apart almost immediately nad the train "lost" its sense of direction pretty quickly. A Christmas present that by the end of January was relegated to the bottom of the toybox.

My boys love this toy. They have had loads of fun over the last couple of years getting Thomas to slide down the ramp and pouring water over the water wheel. It's their favourite bath toy. We haven't had problems with it sticking, but it can slide as it's quite heavy. If the water isn't too deep it's fine.

Invented in Romania in 1940, Rummikub is essentially a tile version of the traditional card game Rummy. It didn't really make it internationally until the 1970s, but by 1980 it had won a string of awards and established itself as a great family game. I bought this for my 2 year old girl as a Christmas present, to help with a long 11 hour flight. She really enjoyed this more than I thought she would.

...but not if you live in a hard water area. My daughter loved these after they were given as a present. However, despite trying really hard to get all of the water out after every use, and storing them so they could drain, they gradually turned black with limescale and mildew, and even squirted out little black bits. We've sadly had to throw them out as we simply could not get them clean.

Firstly, the sloping runways as the first obstacle is NOT a design flaw - you are supposed to time it so that the ball is still rolling forwards as the slopes change direction (another reviewer has commented that the first runways cause the ball to always move in the wrong direction). The idea is not to just let you press buttons and watch as the ball moves - the point is to cause the user to think how to reach the end using basic physics, adding to its educational value. The game loses a lot of replay value, unless you are determined to beat your fastest score. This is possible, and suprisingly hard - its very easy to make one slip up and have to start over (unless you cheat and put the ball back onto where it fell off!) ... Read More:
