This battery operated alarm clock makes a great present for Dalek fans. The sound effects are loud, and sound sufficiently authentic to make most grown-ups jump. The clock has a very quiet (almost inaudible), soothing tick to lull you into a false sense of security. The time and alarm are set by turning little knobs on the back, and the alarm is turned on or off with a switch on the back. The clock needs batteries, and you'll need a small screwdriver to open the battery compartment. The alarm time is shown by a small hand, and we've found it's not very accurate - pointing the hand at 7 makes the alarm go off about 7:15 - but that's easy to allow for. The Police Tech focus torch is a solid design and feels very comfortable in the hand. It's a fraction wider in diameter than your normal Maglite but is shorter in length. The overall size of the torch is larger than what I was expecting and is about the size of a thick marker pen so won't really fit on your keyring. The on/off button is located at the opposite end to the torch light and is very easily accessible, even when in a holster. The torch came with a reasonably sturdy nylon weave holster that slides on to your belt but I ended up buying a different clip on holster. The section near the torch bulb can be rotated (much like the maglite) but the variance in focus isn't as much as I thought it would be. It focuses to a single point very nicely ... Read More:

Fantastic gift. I am rubbish at assembling things so did look at this present for my 6 year old warily. However, the jigsaw bit is great because you can do it together and the rest of the clock assembly is easy. Looks lovely when it's finished, reminds them that they built it whenever they look at it and therefore encourages them to try and tell the time.

I bought this for my son for Christmas.He was thrilled with it until 3 hours later when we took a walk at the park and the buckle and pin fell out (and no he wasnt running around climbing ect)and unfortunately landed in dog muck so couldnt be rescued.Having had a hectic time since,i havent been able to send it back to amazon and now we are left with a watch which cant be worn until a replacement buckle and pin can be found to fit the watch. On the plus side everything else about this watch is great,the design is fun though if your child can't tell the time yet then its not the best starter watch for them as there is no numbers on there other than 12,6 and 9. 3 is replaced by a dalek.
