Lego kick off their 2008 releases from The Clone Wars movie with the amazing AT-TE Walker. These were also seen in Attack Of The Clones but this kit has been updated from the original #4482 AT-TE from 2003 with better construction, nicer detailing and a more accurate colour scheme. This is a great version of the All Terrain Tactical Enforcer and it comes loaded with features. The cockpit opens at the front and the control seat slides out like the previous kit. The legs have been refined and the front and aft legs can move up and down easily - the middle legs swing through. The front four cannons rotate 360 degrees as well as across. This is a really nice, solid Lego set. The ambulance is six blocks wide, unlike the old four block sets, and unlike the monstrosities the company unleashed in the late 90s has a good, satisfying build involved. There's a couple of tiny pieces that will disappear quite quickly and the set relies on stickers for some pieces - including the blinds for the windows, which annoyingly has to go across two bricks - so it loses a star on that. Its size and weight means that it can zoom across the floor with a good push, and roof panels are easily removed so that small hands can reach inside.

There's not a lot in this for £9. Probably the most expensive plastic in the world.

My son enjoyed patiently building this model over 4 days at Christmas but found that every time he wanted to play with the model it fell apart as its base is not strong enough to support the model and the engines stick out below the base so they fall off every time it is put down. Finally after months of frustration we contacted Lego who supplied some extra bricks to try and stabilise the base (a known problem obviously) but that didn't work so we returned it. A great model for adults but simply not suitable for playing with - don't waste the money for kids.
