This game was bought for an 8 year old who had great fun with it. Each turn you are told by the Onmitrix what alien you will be and hopefully thats the one you need to defeat the villain. Whilst not particularly educational, it is a game that children play as a group, so its good for social interaction and learning to take turns.

There are 2 jigsaws in this set - a 12 piece & 24 piece. My 2 year old has mastered the 12 piece set to his great amusement, but is still learning how to do the trickier 24 piece. I think this is definately recommended for 2+ year olds (even though the guide age is 3 years).

i got this game for my dad, who is an avid footy fan, and reckons he knows it all anyway, so this was a fab way to catch him out! I got another one of the BrainBoxes for my b'day adn was delighted that there's loads of different versions of the game, so you can make it a really personal gift. This game is really good fun to play in a big group, and great whetehr your with kids, adults or both. It looks great as it's all illustrated, and feels really good quality. I think all the BrainBoxes are recyled material (think that's why the company that makes them is called Green Board Games) so i really like that about this game as well. Buy this game for the footy fan in your life!

I remember when the first version of this game came out in this form when I was a lad and my mum being quite dismayed that a game she used to play with pencil and paper was now presented by little plastic boats and hit and miss pegs! Nearly 30 years on from that event, my children and I are still getting plenty of enjoyment out of this game and I would heartily recommend this as a great addition to the games cupboard for the whole family. Where this strategy game works very well is that even if a adult is playing against a much younger child because there is always an element of luck in the hitting of your opponent's ships and a random placement of your ships can work just as well as a much thought out one, the chances ... I bought this iteam for my nephew and was shocked when I opened it!! The toys I had when I was a kid are much better made, and thats saying something!! The only joke that will be played if you buy this iteam .. will be on you!

I was looking for a replacement for my travel magnetic scrabble as the letters on that tend to fall off as the glue holding the letter to the magnet melts in the heat. Apart from that, it was a well designed set which was compact and everything fitted into the board when not being used. This version is much bigger. The board opens on one side (not on both as per other reviewers - maybe they have changed the design) to hold the racks and any unplayed tiles while played tiles can simply remain on the board. My main gripe is that shuffling the tiles on the rack is not easy as they are quite a tight fit. I m anticipating losing a few tiles before long.

A fantastic game for all the family, which is pretty faultless (although I found the rules very complex!) Can I suggest next time that Tomy include a plastic diary?? Other than that it is a perfect depiction of DAD-BOB.

Bought this for my son who is almost 4 and he loves it and I think it is excellent and educational as well. However, my son is left handed and found using the pen difficult since it is designed for people who use their right hand, which is a bit of a shame. I think toy makers should make their toys more flexible for people who are both left and right handed.
