My 10 year old daughter really enjoyed building the volcano out of a kind of cement mixture. It is pretty messy but that's half the fun. Once you've built the volcano it needs painting. The hard bit is waiting for it to set and dry. Erupting was easy and pretty hilarious. You need to have vinegar and food colouring to make it erupt and plenty of newspaper underneath to mop up the mess but everything else is provided. Can be used again and again and everything fits back in the box for storage. Would definitely buy for another child. A good value, educational and fun toy I would recommend for children over 8 years.

Although the toy is well made I was disappointed with how short it actually is. The photo makes it look quite long or at least easily stretched out. However, it will not stretch across the width of a cot so I have given only two stars for the misleading nature of the photo.

Every kid loves this toy. The crane head rotates in a complete circle (and then back again, not around and around), and the magnet on the rope goes up and down with another crank. Ours has been in use for several years now, and I'm pleased and surprised to report that the string has not broken despite heavy use. There is one problem with this toy (other than the hefty price). The crane head comes off very easily, and putting it back on is too fiddley for a young child. It's got a round peg which slots into a round hole, but with one slightly flattened edge so it must be lined up just so to work. I use this in the cot for my very young baby. It gives piece of mind knowing they cant roll over in their big cot. It also looks really lovely and is very baby friendly with the cute animals! It has vents for air to flow and is size adjustable. Probably only suitable for small babies though because once they start to wriggle, they wriggle straight out of it!
