The Settlers of Catan is just a fun game! The ever changing board gives a different strategy style every game. It is quite simple to pick up (although some of the photographs showing games in action can lead you believe that it's difficult). There is an aspect of planning, trading, building and a little luck (but just a little) which shows why this is a best seller. Forget Monopoly and other outdated, tedious games, this is great! The actual game takes about an hour and a half to two hours for first time plays, but as you gain experience this is reduced. In a world that is obsessed with computer gaming, this game brings the board game back where it belongs... in the family.

There is nothing wrong with this scooter - it costs £10 for goodness sakes. But it won't last long, perhaps a year of reasonable use. It is not a durable piece of equipment. The bearings are not properly greased, the handlebar adjustment settings tend to break very quickly. The good news is my local recycling centre has so many broken Nebulous scooters (everyone buys this model) that you can often find a spare part and bolt it on to your child's broken one. Overall, this piece of kit is excellent value for £10, but I can't help yearning for the age before Chinese imports where equipment such as this would cost more but could be passed from one child to another.

My six year old son has astounded me with this game. Not only can he beat me hands down at it, he has memorised all the info contained in the cards. This simple little game has fired up his imagination and play is often interupted by questions on weight, height etc as well as the expected history and dinosaur queries. He has played this game so often, the cards have become a little dog-eared (to the point where he can recognise my cards from the bends and marks and chose a category that he knows he can trump me with!) So in the interest of fair play, I am buying him a new set. I thoroughly recommend this game, along with the Space Top Trumps. For a few pounds you will have a fun, educational game that your child will never get bored with.

Our 1-year old daughter absolutely loves this toy - I would highly recommend it and I think if she could talk she would too!! 'Hop onboard the animal train, come on everyone, learning about animals, it's really LOTS OF FUN!!!' hahaha - this song is so contageous - I just want to sing it the whole time. 'Animals big, animals small .... ' etc etc :---)))

My little boy (2 years 9 months) absolutely adores this game. It's good on may levels - taking turns, memorising locations, improving vocabulary, etc., but most importantly it's good fun and we enjoy playing it as a family (which is fortunate, since our son requests it most days!!). The construction is sturdy enough to withstand the attentions of an excitable toddler!
