Not very enlightening - small pages, large print and lots of full page photos. Mainly orientated to Milan and the Western lakes it doesn't even mention Verona airport in its International Flights paragraph. Practical information is sparse and of a general nature.

I totally agree with the reviewer above, Except: beware of the maps. Even a local couldn't find where we were on them! On the whole a very good guide though.

Although the latest motorways might not show on this map ( as mentioned in other reviews ), this map is still the best I have come across for trekking with Rambling Roger in the Gran Canarian mountains. As a hiker having just returned from Gran Canaria ( February 2008 ), I can confirm I found this map the best available, and after all we do not walk on motorways!!!

Although the latest motorways might not show on this map ( as mentioned in other reviews ), this map is still the best I have come across for trekking with Rambling Roger in the Gran Canarian mountains. This Essential guide is ideal for a weekend/short break to Rome, highlighting the must-sees. The maps are good, with zoom-ins on the parts of the city where you are most likely to be on foot. The downside was the low level of practical information, for example on using Rome's bus services (buy ticket before boarding), and trains. Jane Shaw recommended Sperlonga as a great seaside day out easily reachable from Rome. It turned out to be a 120K train ride, followed by a bus trip, followed by the discovery that there is nothing in Sperlonga except the beach, and that there was not necessarily a means of returning to Rome.
