Good grief! After booking my holiday I bought this book to help me get to the hotel, which is near the center of Brussels. The hotel address is on Boulevard Emile Jacqmain. But the street does not exist in the maps in this book. I assumed the travel agent got it wrong, because this is an AA book, but after further research on the internet I find that this book has got it wrong. It has the street misnamed as "Boulevard Eugene Jacmain"! That's two mistakes in one street name - the Eugene and the missing "q".

We used this book during our holiday to Lake Garda. We toured around the lake during a week and found this book very useful for finding out which places were worth a visit and which we could give a miss. Some areas are very detailed; with the guide advising you of places to park etc which was very useful for us. We really enjoyed doing the walks/drives that were instructed in this guide. We particularly enjoyed the drive from Riva del Garda and Limone sul Garda. The instructions were easy to follow and the route it takes you through was brilliant; great views and a real experience to drive. The maps included were useful for reference although you would probably need additional maps to find specific roads within a town/village. ... Read More:

I like this series of books: they're an easy way to read about where you're going to get a flavour of the area. That said there are a few serious problems with this one. Firstly, I worry about it being up to date despite it's claim to have been updated in 2004. The pictures look like they were taken in the 1980s and the information section doesn't mention any of the budget airlines flying to the region. I get the feeling that somebody has checked that there weren't any errors, but didn't actually revise the book for 2004. That leaves the content written back in 2001. Secondly there are detailed maps of the Western lakes, but not the Eastern lakes. So if you're heading to Lake Garda you're going to need another guidebook anyway. Overall I'm ... Read More:
