My husband and I now have a collection of AA sprial guide books (Boston & New England, New York, Washington, California, Florida). All of them are extremely well written. They are easy to read with great pictures and itineraries to fit in all the "must see" attractions to your holiday. It is portable enough to go everywhere with you, and is crammed with useful information, where to eat, shop, stay, how to get around, cost of attractions - the list is endless! The map included is extremely useful too! In short I would recommend this and the other AA spiral guide books to EVERYONE. We would not go on a holiday without one now, as without them, we would have missed many brilliant bits of our holiday!

We have decided that from now on we're only going to visit places that have a Sprial Guide written about them - they have become indispensible to us over the past few years - Barcelona, Venice, Florence and now Paris. There's just the right mix of travellers' tips, interesting facts about the place, good up-to-date information re opening times, prices etc. The maps are suberb (though why does the street we're on always land on a join?!). And the best thing of all is the SPIRAL!! - No losing your place when the book shuts itself, no broken spines, no need for a bookmark - Genius!!

I went to Madeira for 3 days and took this guide and I'm glad I did it. It focus more on Funchal but with so litle time its ideal to plane the days and not waste one second of time. It also makes a great quick reference to the hit points like top 10 local dishes, top 10 gardens, top 10 beaches, top 10 warnings etc. It has great info about all the best places and I found the bus information the most usefull for people like me, who wanted to save money but enjoy the trip at the same time. It has lots of pictures of what to expect, usefull information about the island, info on prices, small maps and the best locations and monuments: the very best top 10 of places you just have to visit while in Madeira, places like The ...
