Travel : Cairo, Luxor, Aswan (Cadogan Guide Cairo Luxor Aswan)
I currently do a lot of travelling on business and often find myself in new places for months at a time. I bought this book to get the basics (along with the Loney Planet Phrase Book).
The book is very well written and organised. I found most of the information up to date and accurate with only a 2 exceptions, which were minor.
Maps were pretty good but there were some occasions I wished the street names had been printed in Arabic or at least phonetically written. Also I would have appreciated having all the streets labelled instead of only the major ones.
Nevertheless the book was crammed with interesting facts and history and really made me feel comfortable with my "new" home for the 7 months I was there.

197.Paris and Disneyland (Take the Kids) by: Helen Truskowska, Joseph Fullman
April 28, 2000
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

>>More Details
Travel : Paris and Disneyland (Take the Kids)
Comprehensive advice for staying in and finding your way round the city with children and more than enough information to help you around the theme park. Even tips for keeping your sense of humour and keeping the kids busy as soon as there are a few drops of inevitable rain. What I really liked was the straightforward approach of the authors.
A very worthwhile buy. It really helped me make the most of my week away with the family. Thanks!

Travel : Barcelona (Cadogan Guides)
I went to Barcelona recently, and in the planning of the trip I consulted four guide books:

Lonely Planet's Barcelona City Guide
Dorling Kindersley Eyewitness Barcelona and Catalonia
Cadogan Guides Barcelona (Dana Facaros and Michael Pauls)
Time Out Barcelona

All of them were good. I took two with me: Lonely Planet and Eyewitness.
The reasons I chose those two:

Eyewitness unfailingly has a good quality map, which in my view is LP's downfall. Eyewitness always includes a Street Finder Index which LP does not, and LP often misses out on streets other than the major ones, which can be very frustrating, especially in a city like Barca where there are many alleyways. I never use Eyewitness ... Read More:
