We have just returned from short trip to Disney Paris. This book was quite useful, but best read with a degree of caution. The authors seem to be lacking any real objectivity and are so gushy about the resort some parts of the book are nauseating to read. Whilst I would agree Disneyland is a great experience for children and a lot of fun for all, the authors don't point out the poor points clearly enough. e.g. the hotel accommodation (we stayed at the Vienna Dream Castle) is below par for the star ratings given, I imagine because they have a captive audience and can get away with murder. Also the food outlets are all extortionate.

With this little book, every tourist will be able to make individual choices quickly and accurately. Text and pictures perfectly balanced, clear layout and descriptions - it leaves little to be desired. The only disadvantage of my holiday was that I did not have enough time to visit all the great places I had planned to see, but the book itself has no faults.

With this little book, every tourist will be able to make individual choices quickly and accurately. Since I bought this moleskine city guide I don't think I've ever left it at home. It has proved an invaluable way to make little notes about the city I live in. For example, I have been able to record quirky little cafes on side streets, found by chance, and would probably never be found again without somewhere to note it all down. I can see this turning into a way to collect my musings and witterings about London. A lovely product that I will keep for life - or at least until it is falling apart.

The phrase short and sweet popped into my mind about this 49 page little book about Bill Bryson's 8 days in Kenya. It is actually a bitter sweet account about the work of the charity organization CARE one of the worlds leading international organizations fighting against poverty. They believe that by working to find the source of a communities problems and solving it they can help make the world a safer and more stable place for us all. Unfortunately the book is a very superficial glance into the problems that are facing Kenya poverty, war, disease and corruption. However it did its job reminding me that we should be grateful for the small things in life and appreciate the fact that there are millions of people in Africa lacking even the basics ... Read More:

Of course JD was able to work as a reporter in Russia without speaking any Russian...Re-Odd choice of presenter/writer. British reporters in Russia just follow the BBC/Times party line...so why would they have to speak any of the local language? The present Guardian correspondent speaks Russian like a small dim-witted child (from London). What chance does he have of digging up any good stories? RE - Erroneous and misapprehending - Khordorkovsky is the hero of the BBC/liberal western media...do you seriously expect them to investigate allegations that he was responsible for murder? (Mayor of Nefteyugansk anyone?)

We have recently been to Krakow for a long weekend and are so pleased we bought this book before we went. The book really is fantastic! The book has maps, resturant and bar reviews, overviews of museums, where to shop, suggested walking tours, where to catch buses from history etc!!! We definatley made the most out of our trip by taking this book! We were able to find our way around easily because of the detailed maps! We also ate at a couple of the resturants reviewed in the book - which were excellent! We were able to save money on visiting the salt mines by taking the bus there ourselves rather than go on an organised tour. I would definatley recommend this book to anybody who is thinking of/is going to Krakow! It is a fantastic ... Read More:
