Customer Reviews
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Oh Why Oh Why
This is an amazing piece of animation a must for all fans. The only criticism is that for now we can only get it on VHS, and that is the only reason for giving it 4 stars when it hits DVD, as i'm sure it must, it'll warrant the other star. If you can't wait for a DVD release, and unlike me don't already have this in your collection get it now I can't reccomend it highly enough. Also i'd say if you like this then give aeon flux a look, MTV did some masterful stuff back in the day.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Bountiful psychological tale, but just try convincing people
Some people find it difficult to take The Maxx seriously because of the superhero aspect, which is a shame since it's far from being the focus. The characters are some of the most developed I have ever encountered - there are no stereotypes here. The seamlessly-joined episodes play non-stop, but after a while you could use a break - I felt like I had been watching all day. There's a tribute to Dr Seuss, plus a slant at Neil Gaiman. I could criticise the occasional computer graphics, which appear slightly dated to the trained eye, but worse is the 'to-be-continued'-kinda ending. Rated 12, though I'd prefer higher due to the deeply dark violence and sexual situations.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - An amazing video that will enter your dreams if you let it.
I don't have long to explain the huge effect this video had on me last summer, except to say that given the fact that it comes from MTV, it is remarkable how cunning it is. There is a very strong plot which is almost impossible to follow, but in a David Lynch way, well worth trying. This film is Carl Jung like in its open approach to the subconcious and Piano like in its silent dealings with womens inner workings. The imagery is wonderful and the comic book is worth hunting down on the shelves of our wonderful virtual world.

Don't worry if you don't understand it. Buy it and wait, one day you will.
