VHS : Meet Joe Black [1999]
This film is great. I would recommend it time and time again. If at first you don't see the wonder of it...you must watch it more than once, you will then see the depth with which I believe it was intended to portray.

VHS : Silence Of The Lambs [1991]
'Silence of The Lambs' is an epic action-thriller boasting an all star cast of Hugh Grant, Sharon Stone, Chuck Norris, and Ted Danson.

Hugh Grant was given the honourable role of Hannibal Lector; a psychotic, cannibalistic train driver who's only desire to remain alive is so he may munch on innocent mens crotches, whilst dining Al Fresco in his back yard. However, his meals soon come to an end as he is caught by the FBI thanks to a peeping tom, and locked up in an All Female security wing.

Sharon Stone plays the sexual rookie Police Cop Starling, who has already bedded half the squadron and is worried that this is endangering her place as the only girl on the team, with the Lieutenant already tired of 'bribes at 11pm'. ... Read More:

This is an entertaining enough effort, but cashes in too strongly on The Silence of the Lambs. Hopkins is good as usual, and Edward Norton is particularly good, but the rest feels a little contrived. Not enough of this gels, and it doesn't have the same unsettling vibe as "Manhunter."

Still worth seeing for some good bits, though.

I have no idea why previous reviewers are making reference to hollywood superstars... this film is a sympathetic study of fallow deer by one of Britain's, no... the worlds best natural history film makers.

I have tried to follow the work of Simon King ever since I saw a regional TV programme with a very young Simon following and filming a family of foxes from the back of a battered Landrover.

I have always found Simon to be one of the most empathetic wildlife film makers I have ever had the pleasure of watching or listening too... he really has a deep and meaningful connection with the subjects he is working with... frequently moving grown men, including himself to tears.

I encourage everyone to check out his latest; ... Read More:

VHS : Titus [2000]
Having studied Shakespeare for as long as I remember, and having read through the entire corpus, give or take one or two of the comedies, I find it hard to understand why so many people unquestioningly judge this to be the worst of Shakespeare's plays. The rhetoric is fascinating - Tamora's manipulation of natural imagery for her own lustful purposes in Act II.iii, sits alongside Titus' ethereal joy in the forest as a life-giving force in one of the most subtle and satisfying inversions in drama. The disintegration of Roman civilisation is allied to the descent of one man into madness with devastating effect. The rape of Lavinia is painfully - but hopefully - depicted. All this in the original. This stunning adaptation is one of the finest that I have seen. The Dionysian vitality ... Read More:
